Piab Group selects Cognite to power smarter, AI-Driven vacuum automation

Piab Group has entered a strategic embedded partnership with Cognite, the global leader in Data and AI for industry. This collaboration allows Piab Group to scale digital services and deliver timely insights, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency across key industries such as Food & Beverage, Warehouse & Logistics, and Pharmaceuticals.

This partnership addresses the urgent challenge of unplanned downtime and inefficient maintenance by enabling predictive monitoring for Piab Group’s vacuum systems. As part of the Cognite Embedded program, Piab Group is embedding Cognite Data Fusion® into its offerings to track equipment performance continuously, detect issues like pressure drops or motor inefficiencies early, and alert operators before they impact productivity – boosting reliability, extending asset life, and reducing costs.

The partnership builds on a successful pilot demonstrated at PackExpo, where Piab Group showcased its anomaly detection capabilities using AI-powered tools within Cognite’s Industrial Canvas. The solution brought together documents, 3D models, time series, and asset data in a single, intuitive workspace. As a next step, the two companies will scale the solution across Piab Group’s divisions, offering low-code, ready-to-deploy condition-based monitoring to manufacturers, machine builders, and industrial operators.
